Delete drafts
This guide shows you how to delete draft documents in Klarify.
First drafts (documents that have never been published) can be permanently deleted. Subsequent drafts (unpublished changes to a published document) cannot be deleted, but you can clear all changes to reset the draft to the last published version.
Permanently delete first drafts
Permanently deleting a first draft removes it from the repository. This action cannot be undone.
Prerequisites
- You have the required permissions (see above)
- The document is a first draft (has never been published)
Instructions
Open the first draft, click the overflow menu (three dots) in the top right corner, and select Delete permanently.
Step 1: Review the impact
- If the document contains subprocesses or embedded task instructions, they will also be deleted.
- If other procedures reference this document, their call activities will be converted to empty embedded subprocesses. Review the Called from section to see affected documents.
Step 2: Confirm and delete
- Check “Confirm that you want to delete document”.
- Click Delete permanently.
Clear draft changes
If you have unpublished changes on a published document and want to discard them, you can clear all changes from the subsequent draft. This resets the draft to match the last published version. The published version is not affected.
Prerequisites
- You have the required permissions (see above)
- The document has been published and has unpublished changes in the subsequent draft
Instructions
Open the document, click the overflow menu (three dots) in the top right corner, and select Clear changes from drafts.
Step 1: Review and confirm
- Review the confirmation message showing which version the draft will be reset to.
- Click Clear changes.
