Connect Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) natively. Once you add Klarify as a custom connector, Claude can search your processes, browse your organizational structure, and (for administrators) create or update content on your behalf.
Prerequisites
- Claude Desktop installed and signed in to your Anthropic account
- A Klarify account in the organization you want to connect
Step 1: Add the Klarify connector
In Claude Desktop, add a custom connector pointing to the Klarify MCP server:
https://mcp.klarify.biz/mcpFollow Anthropic’s guide for adding a custom connector: Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP.
Step 2: Sign in to Klarify
The first time Claude Desktop connects to the Klarify connector, your browser opens a Klarify sign-in page.
- Sign in with your Klarify account.
- Approve the connection when prompted.
- Return to Claude Desktop. The connector now shows as connected.
Claude Desktop stores the session locally so you do not need to sign in again on subsequent launches.
Step 3: Verify the connection
In a new Claude Desktop conversation, ask Claude to confirm it can reach Klarify. For example:
Who am I signed in as in Klarify?
Claude calls the get_current_user tool and returns your name, email, role, and current organization. If Claude responds that it cannot find a Klarify tool, the connector is not active — re-check Step 1.
Signing out
To end the session and force a fresh sign-in next time, remove the Klarify connector in Claude Desktop’s settings, then add it again. Each new connection revokes the previous session.
