Connect Microsoft Copilot Studio
Microsoft Copilot Studio supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once you add Klarify as an MCP server, your Copilot agents can search your processes, browse your organizational structure, and (for administrators) create or update content on your behalf.
Prerequisites
- You have the required permissions (see above)
- Access to Microsoft Copilot Studio
- A Klarify account in the organization you want to connect
Instructions
In Klarify, click the Settings icon in the left sidebar, select AI Assistant under ORG SETTINGS, then find MCP connections.
Step 1: Prepare the Klarify connection
- Select Manual (enterprise) as the Connection type.
- If the connector has not been configured, click Create application.
- Copy the MCP server URL and the values under Connector settings. You will use them in Copilot Studio.
- Click Request secret, then wait for your Klarify team to email the client secret to you. You need this secret before continuing to Step 2.
Step 2: Add the Klarify MCP server
In Copilot Studio, follow Microsoft’s guide to add an existing MCP server to your agent.
- On your agent’s Tools page, click Add a tool, click New tool, then select Model Context Protocol.
- Enter a server name and description, then enter the MCP server URL from Klarify as the server URL.
- Select OAuth 2.0 as the authentication type.
- Select Manual as the OAuth 2.0 type.
- Enter the values from Klarify:
- Enter Client ID and the emailed Client secret in the matching fields.
- Enter Authorization URL in the matching field.
- Enter Token / Refresh URL in both Token URL template and Refresh URL.
- Enter Scopes in the matching field.
- Click Create, then copy the callback URL that appears.
Step 3: Register the callback URL
Return to MCP connections in Klarify.
- Paste the Copilot Studio callback URL into Redirect URL.
- Click Register.
A Redirect URL registered notification confirms that Copilot Studio can complete sign-in.
Step 4: Sign in to Klarify
Return to Copilot Studio and click Next. Create a new connection for the Klarify MCP server when prompted. Your browser opens a Klarify sign-in page.
- Sign in with your Klarify account.
- Approve the connection when prompted.
- Return to Copilot Studio and click Add to agent.
The Klarify MCP server now appears in your agent’s tools.
Step 5: Verify the connection
In a Copilot Studio test conversation, ask the agent to confirm it can reach Klarify. For example:
Who am I signed in as in Klarify?
The agent calls the get_current_user tool and returns your name, email, role, and current organization. If the agent reports it cannot find a Klarify tool, the MCP server is not active — re-check the connector settings from Step 2.
Signing out
To stop using your Klarify account in Copilot Studio, remove your Klarify connection. Other users can remain connected with their own accounts.
