Publish embedded tasks
This guide shows you how to publish an embedded task instruction in Klarify.
An embedded task instruction lives inside a process model, attached to a task in the BPMN diagram. You can publish an embedded task instruction independently from the parent process model, or as part of the process model’s publish flow.
For standalone task instructions, see Publish global tasks.
Publish independently
Embedded task instructions can be published independently from the parent process model, as long as the task already exists in the published version of the process model. If you add a new task to the process model, you must publish the process model first before you can publish that task’s instructions independently.
Prerequisites
- You have the required permissions (see above)
- The parent process model has been published with the task visible in the process
- You have made changes to the embedded task instruction
Instructions
- Open the embedded task instruction you want to publish.
- Click Publish in the top right corner.
- Review the Task Name and assign a Task Owner (required). The Task Owner is a position; search by position job title.
- Optionally, click Add release notes to describe what changed.
- Click Publish.
Publish with the process model
You can also publish embedded task instructions as part of the parent process model’s publish flow. During the process model publish wizard, a Select Task Instructions step appears if any embedded task instructions were modified. From there, you can select which modified task instructions to include in the process model release, and assign a Task Owner per selected task or choose Inherit owner from parent to inherit from the parent activity.
See Publish process models for the full process model publish flow.
