Create process models

This guide shows you how to create a process model in Klarify.

Process models are BPMN diagrams that define the sequence of work activities. They tell the story of what you do to deliver on a business outcome. We call that the “happy path”. Process models can also tell the story of how you handle scenarios when known problems arise. We call these “exception paths”. Both are critical for standardizing work and reducing process variability.

Required permissions

Content Managers and Editors can create process models. Viewers cannot create documents.

Prerequisites

• You have the required permissions (see above)

Instructions

In the sidebar, click Create, then select Process model.

Step 1: Enter a name

1. Enter a Name for the process model (required).
   • Example: “Generate invoice”, “Onboard new employee”
   • Maximum 80 characters.

Step 2: Add editors (optional)

1. In the Editors section, search by name or email to add collaborators.

Content managers are automatically added as editors to all documents.

Step 3: Create the process model

1. Click Create process model.
2. The process editor opens with a blank canvas containing a Start Event.

You can now add BPMN elements to model your workflow using the toolbar at the bottom of the canvas.
