Manage two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an authenticator-app code to your password login. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner, select My account, and find Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
Prerequisites
- Password Login is enabled for your account.
- An authenticator app is installed on a device you can access.
Set up an authenticator app
- Click Set up next to Authenticator app.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
- Enter the six-digit code generated by the app in Code.
- Click Continue.
The Account panel shows Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) - Enabled and marks the authenticator app as Configured.
Enter the setup key manually
If you cannot scan the QR code:
- Click Touble Scanning? below the QR code.
- Copy the displayed setup key into your authenticator app.
- Enter the six-digit code generated by the app in Code.
- Click Continue.
Click Scan code instead to return to QR-code setup.
Remove two-factor authentication
- Click Remove next to the configured authenticator app.
- Enter your account password in Enter your password to continue.
- Click Finish.
The authenticator app returns to Not configured.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Continue is unavailable | Enter the current six-digit code from your authenticator app. |
| Klarify reports a wrong one-time password | Wait for a new code in your authenticator app and enter it before it expires. |
| Klarify reports that the setup expired | Close the setup modal, click Set up again, and repeat the enrollment. |
| 2FA controls do not appear | Review the enabled methods under Log In Options. Authenticator-app 2FA is available with Password Login. |
