Track task progress
Use the completion controls when viewing a published task instruction to keep your place as you work. The progress bar counts completed preconditions, the vendor link, numbered steps, and postconditions. These controls do not appear while you edit the task instruction.
Prerequisites
- You are viewing, not editing, a published task instruction
Mark conditions as done
Select the checkbox beside a precondition or postcondition when it is complete. Select the checkmark again to mark the condition as not done.
Mark numbered steps as done
- Hover over a step number, or move keyboard focus to it, to reveal its checkbox.
- Select the checkbox to mark the step as done. The step number changes to a checkmark.
- Select the checkmark again to mark the step as not done. The step number returns.
If the task instruction includes a vendor link, mark it as done in the same way as any other numbered step.
Follow overall progress
The progress bar stays at the top of the task instruction while you scroll and updates whenever you mark an item as done or not done. It appears only when the task instruction contains at least one item that can be completed.
Your completion state lasts for the current viewing session only. It resets when you close or reopen the task instruction, navigate to another task, or reload the page. Marking an item as done does not change the published task instruction or another person’s progress.
